Ian is an alumnus of the Chou lab. He joined the Chou lab in 2021 as a MITACS funded postdoctoral fellow and worked on the development of cell-free synthetic gene circuits.

Prior to the Chou lab, Ian obtained his PhD from the Biomedical Engineering department at the University of Toronto under the guidance of Prof. Warren Chan. His PhD focused on investigating the role of endothelial cells in nanoparticle drug delivery.
